MISCHIEF

MISCHIEF

When I was a child I lived next to my stepfather’s job. He had a pantry of recycling. There were newspapers, magazines, junk and old toys. I played in the cellar with my brothers and we always found something new to do. But my mom didn’t like that we played there because we always got very dirty.

One day we found a golden ribbon and we played mummies. We wrapped the ribbon around our bodies and we played all day. When we finished playing we were completely golden as the tape released its color, so I decided to look like an Egyptian queen and I painted my entire body with the golden ribbon.

When we came back with my mother she was very angry and she made me take a shower in the backyard with a hose, but unfortunately the paint I could not get the paint off my body. We were punished very strongly and I also had to go to school for a whole week with the skin covered in gold, so all my classmates laughed at me.
